Best products to reduce oiliness

Oily skin is a problem that many of us face and it causes our face to get blotchy and break out in acne. While oil secretion is actually good for our skin, a lot of it turns out to be a problem. A shiny complexion makes you look greasy and your T-zone specially gets affected.

Here are a few products you must consider if you suffer from this problem and want to keep it under control!

1. Cleanser

Using a cleanser to keep your face clean can definitely reduce the excess amounts of oil your face secretes. Use a basic and mild cleanser at least twice a day to keep the problem at bay. Don’t use buffers or washcloths as they may aggravate the problem instead of helping you.

If you fell like a basic cleanse is not working for you, look for something that contains an acid such as benzoyl peroxide, salicylic acid, glycolic acid or beta-hydroxy acid. Also, when washing your face use warm water and not extremely hot water as extreme temperatures can irritate your skin.

2. Toners

There is a lot of debate over whether toners actually help reduce oiliness of skin. Some people swear by this product and say that it makes a drastic change in skin appearance. If you belong to this group of believers, make sure you only apply toners to your T-zone, which is your forehead, nose and chin.

3. Blotting paper and Medicated pads

Blotting paper is easy to use over makeup as well as otherwise. It is extremely easy to use and does not damage your makeup but instead just removes that extra shine from the oily areas. Try not to rub the paper, but instead just press it lightly for 15 to 20 seconds and you’ll see the oil transfer to the paper. Medicated pads too do the same but contain acids like salicylic acid, glycolic acid, or other oil-cutting acid ingredients.
